The movie begins in a mine-infested zone between North and South Korea. After a thrilling, and always completely awesome, hovercraft chase, Bond is captured and held hostage for 14 months. He is then traded back over to the British in exchange for a man named Zao, escapes Hong Kong, and heads to Cuba. There he meets Jinx, and discovers the man he was traded for. Zao escapes, and Bond eventually heads to Iceland, where he finds out who Zao is working for and what may happen if his mission fails. He then ends up back in Korea for the final showdown.
I'd like to say that this movie, in all fields, was intangible. Being the 20th film, and ending the first 40 years of Bond, they had no choice but to make this movie superior. Well, it certainly lived up to it's reputaion with all the action, sex, and gadgets (oh sweet Jesus, the gadgets...). You'll also see some of the old tinkertoys from some of the other films make small returns. His car is once again an Aston Martin, this time with a very useful new feature. The acting was divine from both Brosnan and Berry (who really surprised me...I loved her all the way through). Toby Stephens and Rick Yune were also diabolic as the villians. All I that's left to say is...GET UP AND SEE THIS MOVIE NOW!!! |
